CNMHK and partner university in DR Congo jointly hold 2025 scholarship award ceremony

China Nonferrous Mining Hong Kong Holdings Ltd. (CNMHK), a holding subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC) operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), held the 2025 university-enterprise partnership scholarship award ceremony in collaboration with the Higher Pedagogical Institute of Lubumbashi (ISP Lubumbashi) in Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga Province, the DRC, on June 12 local time.

The event was part of the university-enterprise partnership between CNMHK and ISP Lubumbashi established in June 2024. The first phase of the bilateral cooperation was slated to span three years, during which CNMHK provides financial assistance to 30 outstanding students of the university annually to help them successfully complete their studies.

The scholarship award ceremony is considered an illustration of CNMHK's commitment to the principle of mutual appreciation and inspiration among civilizations, its dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR), as well as the company's efforts to carry forward and further consolidate the traditional friendship between China and Africa.

During the 2025 scholarship award ceremony, the president of ISP Lubumbashi, on behalf of all the students and the entire faculty of the university, expressed heartfelt gratitude to CNMHK and presented the company with two precious and symbolic gifts: a piece of malachite representing the inheritance of knowledge, industrial development, and environmental consciousness, and a special centennial edition of the university's official flag.

Some actions may be quiet, but they can change lives, said a student representative speaking on behalf of all the outstanding student awardees at the ceremony.

These scholarships not only met students' academic and living needs, but also planted the seeds of hope, confidence, and courage in their hearts, the student representative noted, expressing hope for a long-lasting and fruitful partnership that facilitates concerted efforts for building a better future.

In recent years, CNMHK has remained committed to win-win cooperation and shared benefits, creating over 2,000 jobs for local communities and significantly improving local economic conditions.

The company has invested $470,000 in 11 CSR projects in Likasi and Mabende of Haut-Katanga Province, including donating farming tools and seeds and building water wells for local communities.
?
It has also allocated $500,000 for the construction of a secondary school and a vocational training center in Likasi, as well as a primary school in Mabende, helping over 400 local children and young people gain access to education.

This year, CNMHK plans to make an additional investment of more than $100,000 to build a medical clinic for surrounding communities, aiming to improve local healthcare services.
